Recreational Gymnastics Program
School Attending Children Only
Classes in our Recreational Program are available to children attending Primary School and Secondary School. Beginners and those with previous gymnastics experience are welcome.
At Chamford, we believe that by encouraging each child to try their best and by celebrating their achievements, we help build confident, resilient, fit and strong gymnasts.
Our Program is a fun-based program where gymnasts participate in set circuits to build a foundation in gymnastics. We offer a 10-level skills program where children are taught specific skills at their appropriate level, with skill difficulty increasing as the child moves through the program. Classes are divided by skill level and age to allow an optimal learning environment for each gymnast. Our structured lessons use gymnastic apparatus such as the bars, beams, floor, vault, P-bars, rings and trampolines.
Our Skills Program is as follows:
BEGINNER Green Skills Levels 1&2
INTERMEDIATE Yellow Skills Levels 3 & 4
ADVANCED Red Skills Levels 5 & 6
Blue Skills Levels 7 & 8
Purple Skill Levels 9 & 10
Beginner and Intermediate levels (1-hour classes)
Our enthusiastic and experienced coaches assess gymnasts each term to ensure that every child is constantly developing skills at their own pace in a fun environment. A certificate will be sent home each term as a record of your child’s progress. A Gold sticker on the certificate shows that your child has mastered all required skills and is ready for the challenges of the next level.
From, 2025, boys and girls in Levels 1-4 will be together and learn all apparatus.
Advanced Levels - Level 5 and up / 9+ years of age (1.5 hour classes)
As skills in these levels require longer to master, assessments are held in Terms 2 and 4, and a certificate will be sent home to show your child’s progress in the middle and end of each year.
In the Advanced levels, there will be separate classes for boys where they will focus on MAG-specific apparatus.
New members:
All new members who have not attended gymnastics classes in the past should start in Beginner Green (Skill Levels 1 & 2) to develop basic skills and body readiness.
Children not yet at primary school should enrol in our Junior Gym Program.
New members who have attended gymnastics classes in the past may need to be assessed to place them in the most suitable class. If this applies to your child, please contact the office before choosing a class.
