Junior Gymnastics Program

JUNIOR SENSORY FREE-PLAY PROGRAM: Children aged 18 months – 2 ½  years (45-minute class)

This program requires a parent/carer’s involvement.  The child will join in on a 10-minute warm-up and stretch session with a qualified coach at the beginning of the class, followed by 35 minutes of Free Play.  This class provides a safe and fun learning environment to build a sound foundation in body movement, awareness and coordination.  This class enables exposure to different textures, colours and movements throughout the gym, allowing the child’s creativity and curiosity to develop further.  Once your child feels more comfortable in the gym, they may be ready to move into the Junior Gym Assisted Class or the Junior Gym Beginner Class.

JUNIOR ASSISTED PROGRAM: Children aged 2 years – 3 ½  years (45-minute class)

This program requires a parent/carer’s involvement.  The child works in a 1:1 ratio with Mum, Dad or adult carer with a qualified Chamford coach moving around in set circuits. A coach will demonstrate activities and then the child will complete the circuit with adult assistance.  The class provides a safe and fun learning environment to build a sound foundation in body movement, awareness, flexibility and coordination. We encourage children in this class to gain confidence and independence throughout the term and rely on their adult assistant only as needed.  Once they are independently completing the class, they may be ready to move into the Junior Gym Beginner Program.

JUNIOR GYM BEGINNER / INTERMEDIATE: Children aged 3 ½  - 5 years (45-minute classes)

Children work in an 8:1 ratio with a qualified Chamford coach moving around on structured circuits.   The class provides a safe and fun learning environment to build a sound foundation in body movement, awareness, flexibility, and coordination.  This is a structured class with no parent involvement, although parents are welcome to stay and watch in the area provided. We offer Beginner and Intermediate classes to provide children with the most appropriate skills, progression, and optimum learning environment.
