Junior Gymnastics Program

JUNIOR ASSISTED PROGRAM: Children aged 18months – 31/2 years (45-minute class)

This program requires a parent/carer’s involvement.  The child works in a 1:1 ratio with mum, dad or adult carer with a qualified Chamford coach moving around in set circuits. A coach will demonstrate activities then the child, with adult assistance will complete the circuit.

The class provides a safe and fun learning environment to build a sound foundation in body movement, awareness, flexibility and co-ordination.

We encourage children in this class to gain confidence and independence throughout the term and rely on their adult assistant only as needed.  Once they are independently completing the class, they may be ready to move into the Junior Gym Beginner Program.

JUNIOR GYM BEGINNER / INTERMEDIATE: Children aged 4 - 5 years (45-minute classes)

Children work in an 8:1 ratio with a qualified Chamford coach moving around on structured circuits.   The class provides a safe and fun learning environment to build a sound foundation in body movement, awareness, flexibility, and coordination.  This is a structured class with no parent involvement, although parents are welcome to stay and watch in the area provided. Classes are divided into Beginner, Intermediate groups to provide children with the most appropriate skills, progression, and optimum learning environment.

JUNIOR GYM ADVANCED PROGRAM: Invite ONLY (1-hour class)

Junior Advance has been designed for children showing potential to work towards the competitive gymnastics program.  This program is by invite only for children who have good listening skills, the ability to focus and a high level of basic co-ordination and flexibility.  The Advanced class focuses on advancing skills and challenging the gymnasts to achieve their best while keeping the focus on fun.
